I'll overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.

Former two-time world title holder Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to break his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of such comments, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - typically known for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Success

Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's largest financial successes, frequently receiving massive earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would stop the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters met for the usual face-off, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how improbable this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is truly proceeding.
