19 of the Russian's 21 championships have been won on hard courts

A revitalized the Russian player secured his first championship for 882 days with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.

Medvedev, a ex- number one, has had a challenging period, winning just a single victory at the big events and suffering a difficult moment at the American major.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in particular - caused him dropping out of the top ten and finally separating with former coach Cervara.

Currently working with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually progressed in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought competitive triumph over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks the player's maiden title following the Rome competition and first on a hard court from March of the previous year.

Victory also signifies Medvedev has secured twenty-one titles at twenty-one various tournaments.

"It's the first time I'm at a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to win a title is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in dedication of my child Victoria, because the initial championship I got when my child Alisa was born was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six finals, including in that event earlier this year.

Medvedev's counter-punching play style and frequent outbursts on court had prompted commentators to question if his skill to play at the elite level was concluded.

But the player has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to approach the net and compete positively, supported by an improved serve.

He came back from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, taking 4 of the last five games to take the lead.

The pair traded breaks in the following set before Moutet, striving for his first professional championship, took control to create a third set.

He saved 4 early-game break points in a tight third set before Medvedev secured a break to that score to serve for the match.

Suitably, Medvedev secured the title with a point at the front of the court, with Moutet incapable to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
